We pulled the old tile surround and top, repaired the substrate and got to work on the new finish.

They decided on a tile that has the appearance of stone so that the profile didn’t stick out super far.. smart! The trick being we decided to mitre all the corners instead of installing metal trims which is a small detail that makes all the difference. Then finished it off with custom made maple wood tops and spray painted the existing brass fireplace pieces matte black.

Everyone was so happy with the end result that they asked if we could tackle a quick kitchen backsplash while we were there.. Absolutely was the answer!
